Before The Rain

A recent color field piece, 9 x 9 inches, beginning with a solid black background.

And speaking of rain, we're finally getting a good drenching on the North Coast.  I don't know the effect of this current rain on our long-standing drought in California, but some rain is always better than no rain.

I love this - so simple yet lots to look at with its worked surface. Whenever I look at abstract work like this, I long to translate it to stitch but somehow don't feel I know where to start. Sometime I will, perhaps.

Love it, it has a really moody feel.

I can smell the moist soil around your place and the moist wool in my stash room looking at this picture!

Yup! We got a good soaking up here in the redwoods. Your picture reminds me of how much we needed that water!. Nice clean lines, Connie.

And how I loved the sound of those huge drops hitting the skylights...

I reminds me so much of the desert here in Australia, with the wide open horizons, gorgeous

Really like how the black shows thru the paints, and all the texture you're so good at. So much going on for such a simple piece.
