So, Do You Still Love Me?

.....because today I'm 64.  That number looks incredibly large -- I'm still just a kid at heart.

A birthday present I made for myself ~ this new Art Journal, which I mentioned on Saturday.  All the cover papers, inside and out, are recent Gelli Plate prints.  And the inner pages are all offprint backgrounds.

The book measures 9-1/4 x 7-1/4 inches.  Since the printed papers were 12 inches long and the maximum open folio size would be 14 inches, I folded the pages so that they're not all equal in width.  Some pages are 6 inches (12 inch folio folded in half), but most were folded not in the middle so that the pages are different widths.  You can see this somewhat in the photo below.

Hope you have a great day ~ I know I will!

Happy Birthday!!! I hope your day is filled with things that make your feet dance and your heart sing. Your journal is gorgeous. I love the swirly cover. My Gram had a hard, hard childhood, actually she didn't have a childhood in the typical sense. When she turned 65, she retired from the bakery. She took her tiny social security check and used it to do all the things she longed to do. She went to Vegas (she was anti liquor and anti gambling, but wanted to see what all the fuss was about). She learned to paint, to play the organ. She hiked over Snoqualmie Pass with her best friend. She is my role model. I will be 60 this year. C turned 65. So, we are embracing Gram and our inner child, doing those things we said "someday" to. You are never too old to be young! Love you my friend. xoxo

Yes, I still love you! Happy birthday; I am 62. Why in this country can't we be loved, appreciated and accepted as vibrant women in our 60's, 70's and beyond?
