Week 2 ~ 9 x 12

Here's the second piece in my weekly collage quilt challenge.  Mostly ecodyed and tea stained fabrics -- with a small paper collage recycled from last year.

It's good for me to be challenging myself again, keeps me moving through stuff.  I'm about half done with the Fiberactions' challenge quilts ~ there will actually be four pieces this time (!), a quartet of related quilts of the same size.  May 15 is the reveal for those.

I'm planning to completely reorganize my front room studio with new storage solutions under the work table plus a shelf across the top.  I need more room to spread out for upcoming mixed media work.  A trip to Target in Eureka next week will get me going on that.

Looks like we have sunny days ahead for the next week or so, and hopefully longer.  I was just getting into the swing of spring when it was cold and rainy again for a couple of days this week.  Have a great weekend!

It's a beautiful collage, Connie. Very delicate and pretty.

You will have fun reorganizing your studio. It's always a lot of fun to come up with new solutions on how to make things work better.

I think we're going to have some better weather too. It will do wonders for my spirits. Have a good weekend. xox

They have a Target in Eureka!!! It's a little town all grown up since I lived in Arcata. I love this collage! I took all the bundles I got from you to a quilt retreat this past weekend, but didn't make was a sweat shop for me to learn to machine quilt. I still need more confidence and some hand / foot control. Your work still insspires me everyday!! Mb

Connie, this is beautiful. I love the soft colors and the leaves. The different textures gives it such interest - beautiful. We went from 91 on Monday to 61 yesterday. No wonder the plants and trees are confused! Wishing you a fun filled weekend.

I love the postcard and the way the Japanese landscape in the center creates a blue focus as well as bringing out the eco dyed colors in the leaves!

All I can say is... WOW! This piece is gorgeous! The colors, the layering... I love the leaves! And have fun reorganizing your studio. Mine needs a deep cleaning now that I'm done with my big dye order... maybe this weekend! And I do hope your nice weather lasts... time to open windows and breathe in warm fresh air!
