117K Giveaway!

I meant to do a giveaway when my blog hits reached six figures, but I'm just getting around to it, 17,000 hits later.

Periodically I go through my studio with a fine tooth comb and pull out materials I'm finished with or have never used.  My recent cull turned up two batches of cool colorful stuff.

I'm looking for two winners for the materials below.  To enter, leave a comment on this blog by midnight next Tuesday November 8, and I'll do a drawing on Wednesday.  Please specify which treat you would rather have ~ the Glitz Giveaway or the Thread/Ribbon Prize.  Also, let me know what you've been up to creatively this year.

The Thread/Ribbon Prize includes a large assortment of embroidery threads, including a couple skeins perle cotton and some old silk floss in the mix.  Most of the threads are DMC with possibly a few skeins of Coats. The ribbons are short pieces, between 6" and 18" and most are 1/8" satin.

The Glitz Giveaway includes 4 barely-used (if at all) bottles of Pearl Ex metallic powder, 4 tubes of glitter glue, and three pieces of unusual mylar trim.  The mylar cuts easily, can be glued or stitched, but does melt so be careful with your iron.

Thanks for reading my blog, and good luck!

Oh Connie, I'm salivating at the sight of the embroidery thread. I'm almost out of it, you see. All I have left are shades of brown. I haven't done much creatively this past year except for some little paintings. I'd love to do some cross stitch now that I've got my varifocals.

I would love to try a bit of Glitz and Mylar to work on some fantasy animals this winter . I have been needle felting "woodland"y type animals but would like to work on a few more dragons and dinosaurs using my wet felt wool and bit of glitz .

Count me in for the Glitz! I be a magpie at heart.

Well, practical me says the floss as I am always running out, but then there is the Magpie. She saw that glitz and her heart started to beat faster. Magpie is rarely indulged, so I'll go for the glitz! I have spent the year dabbling. A little indigo, a little slow cloth, a little eco dyeing (thanks to your advice!). I have been like a hummingbird flitting from one flower to the next. Hopefully this winter I will settle into a less frenetic mode. Thank you for always being an inspiration, Connie!

I love to hand stitch and have lots of threads-but it is never enough of course. They should probably go to someone starting out and on a limited budget, but I can't resist a giveaway. There is something about getting someone else's stuff that is special.

Aaaah Connie, I sure like glittering things (a bit like a magpie ;-) ...) but that stash of thread in that beautiful rainbow (!) would be my favourite: I could go on stitching for days and days ....

Congrats on that many hits. I'd love to win the thread as it seems like a great time of the year to sit and hand stitch.

Wow Connie great giveaway ...if I was fortunate to win then I would have to choose the threads and ribbons !!.....I use so much thread with my obsessive stitchery in fact I stitch every day ....its the first thing i do in the morning (after coffee of course) and the last thing at night and any available minute in between....ha ha ....xx

Great idea for studio cleaning. I am a fool for anything that glitters - so that would be my choice. Love this blog.

What a generous offer Connie. I'm new to the blog-o-sphere, a big 10 posts so I have a ways to go. It's folks like you that really make it zing. I'd like to put my name in for the threads and such...I'm doing Jude's Hill workshop/diaries so this would really put some bling into the cloth. Thank you and congrats.

A great giveaway! For me it would have to be the threads. It's not been a very creative year for me - some experimenting with natural dyes is all.

Are you sure you will never use these goodies again?? If I won the threads and ribbons you could draw another name and divide them in half..that would wonderful to share my "winnings". Mb
