Rainbow Book

Any of you remember the original Rainbow Book that came out in the early 1970s?  This is my Rainbow Book ~ my response to Fiberactions' 10+ color challenge, revealed today.

Every piece of this fabric, exclusive of the black linen backing, was handmade by me ~ dyed, shiboried, deconstructed- and other screen printed, digital imaged, hand printed, stamped...  The book also serves as a memory book of most of the best fabrics I surface designed over the last five years.

Finished size is 9 x 87 inches.  Color names are quilted onto every stripe, 57 of them.  I had a total blast making this.

Here are three images of the back of the book, which is cool in its own right.  Click any photo here to enlarge them all.  Enjoy!

This is exquisite. Books, quilting, all those colours -- and cats -- what more could you ask for?
